Abstract |
Purpose We report a case of congenital accessory punctum and canaliculus in a patient with epiphora by Dacryocystogram. Methods: A 78-year-old female patient visited our hospital for epiphora in right eye. We tested slit-lamp examination and dacryocystogram. Results: An accessory punctum was found in the right eye. Its diameter was 0.3 mm. Dacryocystogram showed that the accessory punctum had an independent canaliculus which was connected to a normal lower canaliculus. Conclusions: After suturing the accessory punctum, the symptom was relieved. Other different symptom can be presented by location of congenital accessory punctum and canaliculus.
